At Robertson Williams Transport (RWT), hauling jet fuel isn’t just another job, it’s a responsibility we take seriously to keep airplanes, pilots, and cargo safe.  With over 4 million gallons of jet fuel transported every month (that’s roughly 533 loads), we understand what’s at stake when it comes to clean, on-spec aviation fuel.

Unlike some carriers, we don’t treat jet fuel like any other commodity. Here’s what sets RWT apart:

Dedicated Jet Fuel Trailers

Although we specialize in all types of fuel transportation, RWT will never cross-contaminate. Our trailers dedicated to jet fuel stay dedicated to jet fuel.  Using the same equipment for other fuels like diesel or gasoline is a shortcut we won’t take because our customers deserve and expect a clean, uncompromised fuel delivery load every time.

Dedicated, Trained Drivers

Not every driver can haul jet fuel. Our drivers are specially trained on proper fuel handling, terminal procedures, and, most importantly, how to conduct white bucket testing for our own internal benchmarking standards as well as our customers’ expectations. This added layer of testing ensures the jet fuel we haul meets the highest quality standards before it ever reaches your tank.

White Bucket Testing — The RWT Way

Every load is tested at both the terminal and at our clients delivery location.  We do this by letting the fuel settle for 10 minutes, then perform a clear and bright visual inspection. We document every single test with a written record. And the result? We’ve never had a jet load refused. That’s a track record we’re proud of and it’s by no accident.

Why Clean Jet Fuel Matters: The Risks of Contamination

When jet fuel isn’t clean, it’s more than an inconvenience, it’s a serious safety hazard. Here’s what can happen if contaminated fuel makes it into an aircraft:

  • Engine Malfunction or Failure:
Water, dirt, or microbial growth can clog fuel lines or filters, starving engines of fuel or causing catastrophic failure.
  • Corrosion of Fuel System Components:
Contaminants can damage critical parts of the fuel system, leading to expensive repairs — or worse, compromised flight safety.
  • Reduced Performance & Fuel Efficiency:
Dirty fuel can cause irregular engine behavior, reduced efficiency, and difficulty starting, all of which put operational reliability at risk.
  • Financial & Operational Disruptions:
Contaminated fuel often means costly maintenance, grounded aircraft, and disrupted operations, a price no one wants to pay.

RWT’s Commitment to Clean Fuel and Safe Flights

We know the risks and we’ve built our jet fuel transportation process around preventing them. From dedicated equipment and highly trained drivers to our strict white bucket testing protocolsRWT goes further than most carriers to ensure clean, on-spec jet fuel and aviation gas delivery.

Because when it comes to aviation fuel, “good enough” isn’t good enough.
